Shirley (Guyett) Parks of Liverpool, NY, passed away on her 98th birthday October 8, 2023 after a brief illness. She was born in Rochester, NY to Earl and Madeline (Brown) Guyett. During WW II she worked at the Franklin Engine Co.in Liverpool then later went on to work at the Will & Baumer Candle Co. where she met her husband to be. They married on April 30, 1949. After raising her 4 children, then went on to work as a Sales Clerk for Dey Brothers Department Store for 10 years. Shirley was one of the founding members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Liverpool. She enjoyed camping in the summer, reading, taking daily walks, and word puzzles. She loved talking and laughing with family, and especially getting together for Saturday morning breakfast with her family.
Shirley is predeceased by her parents and her husband of 44 years Richard Donald Parks, Sr. who died in 1993, grandson, W. Anthony Nencetti who died in 2020, brothers, Earl & Jack Guyett and sisters Helen Francis and Ruth Milea.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her three sons; Richard (Jeannine) of E. Syracuse, David (Anne Marie) of North Syracuse, Daniel (Anita) of Liverpool, daughter, Diane Nencetti of Liverpool, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated 11:30 am in the Catholic Family of Epiphany Church (formerly St. Joseph's the Worker Church) 1001 Tulip Street, Liverpool, NY 13088. The Rite of Committal and burial will be held in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse, NY.
