March 21, 1949 – January 31, 2023
Stephen M. Jachym, 73, of Liverpool, NY passed away on Tuesday at Strong Memorial Hospital due to complications from a long struggle with cancer. Born in Buffalo, NY to the late Thaddeus and Theresa (Patnode) Jachym, he grew up in Burnt Hills, NY and graduated from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School. Stephen continued his studies at SUNY Cobleskill and completed his education at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Stephen was employed as the Director of Food Service for the Westhill Central School District, retiring after 30 years of service. Steve traveled to many states across the country with his wife Cheryl. He loved to camp and visit the Saratoga Race Track. He was an avid golfer, participating in two golf leagues and was active in anything baseball themed. He coached Liverpool Little League as well as Westhill High School Baseball. He enjoyed dancing with Cheryl, listening to both country and classical music. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. Stephen was an active parishioner of Liverpool First United Methodist Church.
Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Cheryl (Christopherson) Jachym of Liverpool, NY, his daughter, Karen (Aaron) Gross of North Syracuse, NY, two sons; Matthew (Leah) Jachym of Albany, NY and Mark Jachym of Baldwinsville, NY, four grandchildren; Braeden, Julia, Annabel and Audrey, two sisters, Patricia (Phil) Holder of Ballston Lake, NY and Nora (Jurgis) Brakas of Rhinecliff, NY, many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Liverpool First United Methodist Church, 604 Oswego Street, Liverpool, NY 13088 with Funeral services to follow at 1:00 pm. Spring burial will take place in Liverpool Village Cemetery.
