Stephen L. Shires, 70, of Liverpool, NY passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024. Born in Coventry, England, he moved to the United States in 1977.  He was a member of Syracuse Turners Club. He cherished time spent with family and friends at home by the pool, on the golf course, at the Club, and on the rugby pitch.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Susan (Firth) Shires of 18 years; a son, Nicholas (Tori) Shires of Baldwinsville; two daughters, Susan (Erik) Johnson of Oneonta and Julie (Dylan) Tredway of VT; a stepson, Tristan Powell (Andrea) of England; a sister, Christine (Brian) Morton of England; a brother, Ian (Debbie) Shires of Detroit, MI; five grandsons, Owen, Parker, Cullen, Wesley and Henry and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Inc., 300 Second St., Liverpool with a Celebration of Life to follow at 12:00 pm. Please wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt, which have become affectionately known as "Grandad Shirts."

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
