Susan M.
Stauffer
December 30, 1951 – January 30, 2023
Susan M. Stauffer, 71, of Baldwinsville, NY passed Monday, January 30, 2023 at her home. She was born in Rotherham, England to Arthur and Mary Beasley. She was the proud daughter of a Yorkshire coal miner. She was raised in England and attended Notre Dame High School in Sheffield, England. While attending Trinity and All Saints Colleges in Horsforth, England, she met her future husband who was studying overseas. They were married and moved to Philadelphia in 1972. She was a resident of Baldwinsville, NY for 41 years and a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
She helped form the Religious Education Department at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and served as Co-Director of Religious Education for many years. She went on to work at Upstate Chiropractic. Then she moved on to the Baldwinsville Central School District where she worked as a Teacher's Aide at Palmer Elementary until retirement.
She loved children, especially her seven grandsons. She thought and spoke about them everyday as they were the joy of her life. Mims was always ready with a treat, a listening ear or a cuddle for all of her boys.
Everyone who met Sue fell in love with her smile which never faded throughout her battle with cancer. Her family would like to thank Dr. Steve Duffy and the staff at HOA; her Hospice team, Sarah, Andrea, Sue, Wendy and Julie; her long time Nascentia aide Marta; as well as her many friends who provided much needed support and laughs throughout Sue's journey.
Susan is survived by her husband, Dennis J. Stauffer of over 50 years; a son, Iain (Rachael) Stauffer of Apex, NC; two daughters, Katherine (Kevin) Mattessich and Elizabeth (Tim) Nobles of Baldwinsville, NY; two brothers, Desmond (Christine) Beasley and David (Jane) Beasley of Rotherham, England; seven grandsons Aiden and Harrison Stauffer, Wes and Cole Mattessich, Tyler, Alec and Timmy Nobles and many nieces & nephews both in the US and England.
