Obituary

Thomas Warren Cowan, 86, died Sunday June 8, 2025. Prior to moving to New Jersey in 2020, Tom was a Liverpool resident for over 40 years. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late Warren L. and Freda G. Cowan. He graduated from Bethal High School, Bethel Park PA, in 1956, and Lehigh University, Bethlehem PA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1962. He married the former Dolores Adamus of Erie, PA, in August 1962, and together they raised three children.

Tom worked his entire career in the metals industry, retiring from New Process Gear. He continued to volunteer in activities at University Hospital, Meals on Wheels, Francis House, The Red Cross, Park Rose Adult Living and Rescue Mission. Tom enjoyed golfing, biking, walking and group exercise. Tom is predeceased by his wife, Dolores in 2010.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his son, Jeffrey (Kelley) Cowan; two daughters, Pamela (Tom) Vela and Barbara (Jack) Ball, nine grandchildren, Rachel, Molly (Zach), Andy and Katie Cowan, Megan (Matt) Doty and Alex Vela, and John, Ryan and Erin Ball, and 3 great-grandchildren, Nora, Jane and Drew Doty.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in United Church of Christ, 215 Blackberry Road, Liverpool, NY 13090, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will take place in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.
