Thomas W. Gilmartin, Sr., 100, of Baldwinsville, NY and formerly of Staten Island, NY passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.  Born in Manhattan, NY he worked for General Electric for 37 years as a Sales Manager for Steam Turbine Parts. Thomas was a communicant and active member of Sacred Heart Parish on Staten Island in West Brighton, NY and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Baldwinsville, NY.  Anyone who knew Tom knew him as a kind and gracious man, with an intelligent quick wit. He will be missed as a great storyteller, with a cigar in hand over a glass or two of red wine.

Thomas was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Edythe Gilmartin and granddaughter, Laura Meszaros.

He is survived by his son, Thomas W. (Patricia) Gilmartin of Marlborough, NY; daughters, Christie (William Bader) Waters of Auburn, NY, Margaret E. Gilmartin of Saratoga Springs, NY, Merridith Meszaros of Baldwinsville, NY and Barbara (Henry) Borick of Baldwinsville, NY; a sister, Catherine McGuillicuddy of Ireland; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 10AM in Sacred Heart Church, 981 Castleton Ave., Staten Island, NY 10310 with burial to follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.

The family would like to thank the first-floor staff of Iroquois Nursing Home for their care and compassion given to Thomas.
