Obituary

Thomas L. McCall passed after a brief illness on March 9, 2024. Born January 12, 1929, in Cranston, RI. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island BSEE in 1950.

Upon graduation from URI, Tom was recruited by GE as a sales engineer, a career that spanned 38 years retiring in 1989. He was an incredibly talented wood worker and had time to enjoy his real passion, golf. Tom was a member of Beaver Meadows for 42 years enjoying two aces and "the shot heard around the world" eagling #14 while playing with his 3 sons. Tom served on the Board of Directors for 11 years and Chairman of the Eager Beavers senior golf league for 20 years. Then closed out his awesome golf legacy at Foxfire where he golfed with his good friend, Bill W.

The family enjoyed celebrating his 95th birthday in January 2024.

Tom was a friend to all with an uncanny ability to make you laugh at the small things. Quick witted and humble with a tremendous heart. To steal from the famous song "Brandy" by Looking Glass, "But he had always told the truth, lord he was an honest man" sums up his character.  He is predeceased by his wife, Jane T. McCall, son, David McCall, parents, James and Gladys McCall, siblings, Russell McCall and Ethel Dunlop.

Tom is survived by his wife, Noreen, sons, Scott (Camille) of Cape Coral, FL, and Steve (Diane) of Baldwinsville, daughter-in-law, Kathryn McCall of Colorado, stepchildren; James (Kim), Christopher (Amanda) Ronald, twins, Michael and Lory (Mike) Welch. Grandchildren; James David, Michael, Johnny, Tim, and Rob, Christine and Mary Kubacki, as well as seven great-grandchildren.

There are no calling hours. A celebration of life will be held this summer.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom's name may be made to any of these organizations: Serenity Hall, Nobles Plaza, Baldwinsville, NY, Tunnels to Towers or the Francis House, Syracuse, NY.
