Thomas R.
Selig
May 6, 2026
Thomas R. Selig, 93, of Savannah, Georgia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, Syracuse, New York. Born on May 14, 1932, in Appleton, Wisconsin, Tom lived a life defined by professional accomplishment, enduring friendships and devotion to family.
Tom was a gifted student athlete and played football all four years while attending St. Norbert College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. After graduation, he began a successful engineering career with General Electric (G.E.). During this time, he was drafted into the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country and earned a master’s degree in Electronic Engineering. Upon discharge, Tom resumed his employment with G.E. and remained with the company for over 20 years. After which, he continued to distinguish himself professionally as Operations Manager of National Micronetics and Semiconductors and later as CEO of BLH Electronics.
Tom was predeceased by his beloved wife of 38 years, Marian, as well as his parents, George and Leone; and siblings, Jack and Barbara. Together, Tom and Marian made many fond memories at their home on Skidaway Island and shared many joyful summers boating along the Intracoastal Waterway, often accompanied by one of their three cats.
A lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers, Tom proudly wore green and gold every football season. He was also an avid golfer who especially treasured outings with dear friends Gerry and Marylou and greatly enjoyed his standing Wednesday breakfasts with his golf buddies.
More than anything, Tom was deeply proud of his family. In his later years, he felt especially fortunate to be near his children and grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them.
He is survived by his four daughters, Krista, Kalyn (David), Kara (James), and Kyle (Cody); his brother David; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private burial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom’s memory may be made to Catholic Charities.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Touching Hearts, Elderwood, and Brookdale, and to his devoted caregiver, Monique. Special thanks are also extended to Colleen and the palliative care team for their compassionate support and guidance.
Please sign the Maurer Funeral Home on-line guestbook for Tom to express your condolences to his family.
