Thomas "Big Tom" Sugrue, 95, passed away on Monday at Upstate University Hospital. Born in Syracuse, NY on December 7, 1928, he was a life-long resident of Syracuse and a parishioner at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Tom lived a full life dedicated to family and service. A proud veteran, Tom served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army stationed in Greenland. Following his military service, he worked at Western Electric until his retirement. Tom was a movie buff, enjoyed playing the lottery and above all loved spending time with family. He is predeceased by his parents, Dennis and Molly, brothers; Dennis, John "Jack" and James Sugrue and his sister, Mary Flask.

Left to cherish his memory are several nieces and nephews whose lives he helped shape over the years.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second St. Liverpool, NY 13088. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 10:00 am in Catholic Family of Epiphany Church, 1001 Tulip St. Liverpool, NY 13088. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Liverpool Fire Department, 1110 Oswego St., Liverpool NY 13088.
