Obituary

Victor Arthur Kuraszewicz, 73, of Clay, NY passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Crouse Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Malartic, Québec, Canada, to the late Jan and Francis (Bak) Kuraszewicz. Victor attended Cambrian College in Sudbury, Ontario earning his degree in Information Technology and completed his education at the University of Ottawa, receiving his Business Administration degree. Over 50 years ago, he began his career as a Database Systems Analyst, Designer and Developer. Victor was employed with the Oracle Corporation for the remainder of his career as an IT Principal Consultant and Senior Database Analyst.

Victor was an avid traveler with a deep appreciation for learning about the world. He loved exploring his native land, Canada, as a young man and with his beautiful new bride, Rosemary, after they met in 1975 in Montréal, Québec. After they wed, with their young family, they moved from Ottawa, Ontario, to Baldwinsville, NY, where they lived for 32 years. Victor loved the open road, listening to his favorites like The Rolling Stones, George Thoroughgood, and The Moody Blues, as he traveled from coast to coast, admiring the beauty of this country. Drawing on his fluency in three languages, he broadened his travels with his family to explore his wife's native land, Scotland, as well as several other countries in Europe, including Poland where he met long lost relatives, documenting it all on his Nikon camera. At home, Victor loved spending time doing his favorite things like playing guitar and watching hockey with his son, Brian, watching the Buffalo Bills and designing home improvement projects with his daughter, Michelle, and enjoying time on the back porch, listening to their favorite songs with his beloved wife, Rosemary, reminiscing about past and future adventures. Victor cherished spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren, Griffin, Declan, and Killian, and daughter-in-law Stephanie, during family celebrations and milestones. Victor loved animals, especially his faithful pets, dog Lola and cat Jack. His kind and gentle nature was known to all. Victor’s life will always be remembered in the ideals he lived by: to treat others as you would be treated, to know your worth, and to honor the value of honesty and hard work, even if no one is watching. This and so much more will remain his powerful and lasting legacy to all who knew and loved Victor.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 50 years, Rosemary Kuraszewicz of Clay, NY, daughter, Michelle Kuraszewicz of Syracuse, NY, son, Brian (Stephanie) Kuraszewicz, of Clay, NY, three grandchildren, Griffin, Declan and Killian Kuraszewicz, three sisters, Theresa (Jules) Boudreau of Val-d’Or, Québec, Jane (Mike) Tremblay, Mary (Bert) Guay both of Malartic, Québec, niece, Geneviéve Guay and two nephews, Eric Boudreau and Jean-François Guay.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 11:00 am in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 3494 State Rt 31, Baldwinsville, NY. The Rite of Committal and inurnment will take place in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.
