Obituary

Vincent T. Gabriel, 80, of Liverpool, passed away suddenly on Saturday August 4, 2012 at home.

Vincent was born in Pontiac, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan, graduating with his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. Vincent was an employee of General Electric, retiring in 1991 after thirty six years and was a graduate of the prestigious General Electric ABC Course. Vincent was also a veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Army.

Vincent's pride and joy was his family. He was selfless and loving. His hobbies usually revolved around his passion for designing and building things; including hang gliders, boats, kit cars, fly fishing and tying.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Gartha (Pennington) Gabriel; his children, Joseph R. (Donna) Gabriel of Portsmouth, RI; Anne C. Gabriel Giegerich of Liverpool; Mary Beth "Betsy" (Mark) Smrtic of Westford, MA; James V. (Patricia) Gabriel of Niskayuna, NY; brothers, Richard (Patricia) Gabriel of NC; John (Charlotte) Gabriel of CA; eight beloved grandchildren, Megan, Daniel, Benjamin, Alexander, Haley, William, Michael, Nicholas; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners and 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 3541 Rt. 31, Baldwinsville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Vincent's memory may be made to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
