Virginia L. "Ginger" Barnes, 67, of Clay, NY passed away, Sunday, March 21, 2021.  She was born in Syracuse, NY and worked as a waitress most of her life in various diners.  She worked more recently besides her mother at Ada's Place until numerous health issues forced her into retirement.  She loved decorating and shopping for the holidays, especially her favorite, Halloween.  She enjoyed dinners with family, spending time with grandkids, taking rides around the lake with her husband and anything else that would get her out of the house. Ginger is predeceased by her parents, Leon and Ada Bessette and her brothers, Gary, Steve and Mike Bessette.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years, Gerald "Butch" Barnes; three children, Kevin (Tiffany) Barnes, Lance (Jennifer) Barnes and Mindy Barnes (Shawn Price); seven grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany, Nicole, Brandon, Emily, Justin and MacKenzie; four step-grandchildren, Alyia, Josie, Makayla, Layla; two great-grandchildren, Keirdan and baby-to-be Scrimale; one sister, Elaina Bessette and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ginger will always be remembered as mom, Aunt Gin and Nana. She was a strong woman and a fighter that never let anything stop her.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 5:00-8:00pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Route 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.  Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY.
